Miracles

Twice I heard Adi Da's voice when He wasn't present. One time our eyes met and this world disappeared, there was only this vast eye of peaceful bliss that I was falling into. One time standing close to Him I left, not only this body but this world altogether. I went to a place that I feel often and am approaching as His devotee. The only word that I know that describes this "place" is Heaven. Thousands upon thousands have experienced the miracle of Adi Da Samraj.

The Lions Club vs The Hells Angels

I grew up in Pleasant Hill California. There used to be a sort of county fair called Fiesta Del Diablo. My father was in the Lions Club. The Lions Club would have two booths at Fiesta Del Diablo. One was corn-on-the-cob and the other was beer. I was about 10 at the time so this would have been 1962. The Hells Angels regulary attented the Fiesta. One day a group of Angels showed up at the beer both. My father worked at the beer booth. The Angels ordered beers. They were asked for IDs. This became a problem cause some of the Angels didn't have IDs. They started to get angry and the men from the Lions Club started to get angry. Dave Dunham was a man who worked in the corn-on-the-cob booth. He was a big Irish guy. Over 6', think NFL full back and you get the picture. The booths were divided by a wooden rail. Mr Dunham was leaning against the rail bouncing a machete against the wood. He had a smile on his face and said "boys, it's time to leave." Thing is that the men of the Lions Club were all WWII vets. Dave Dunham was a marine in the South Pacific. He had no problem about mixing it up with the Hells Angels- using a machete. The Angels understood this and left.

I remember a movie called Full Metal Jacket- marines and Vietnam. The scenes of the marine training starred an actual USMC drill sargeant. One of his lines was about men being natural born killers. This is true. Yet, to live in a civilized manner this instinct must be brought under control. So we can have the urge to kill and not kill both active within us creating stress.

Adi Da wrote an esoteric poetic play called the Mummery. The word mummery means two things – 1. It is a play of ridiculousness 2. It is a play with the actors wearing masks. All the world is a stage played on by actors in masks. It seems to me that Adi Da’s Mummery encompasses both meanings of the word Mummery. The bad guy in the play is named Evelyn Disk. In one scene he shows a tattoo on his foot that says “I’m OK”. In the fabric of our essence “I’m OK” lives amongst us all. It can be layered over with low self-esteem but the “self” sense- the “I am” lives within us all.

When you do Scientology you do a lot of past life work. The subconscious that is ever present, influencing us, sometimes taking us over is filled with past life. One time in a Scientology session “Kill ‘em all” flew out of my psyche. I loved fishing salmon. You are only expediting their death sentence that is soon to be executed- So it was lawful killing. I loved it. It’s hard to admit our nasty, unacceptable behavior. Yet, there are all these urges to fight. The “I’m OK” equation manufactures justifications of being a ‘white hat’. “I’m going to fight on the good side… And really kick some ass!!” I remember watching westerns as a child. I was so moved to being a ‘law man’. Roy Rogers…. He was like a god to me and I wanted to be just like him.

At the core of our activity of being a separate one are all the nasties of us- Where we intend harm. These intentions are buried. It is fruitful to uncover these things- To air them out where they can dry up.
